Need Gum Gone? Chewing gum removal can be a sticky situation, whether it is on your concrete, parking lot or on the side of a building, chewing gum eventually changes into a smudge on your concrete. But before that happens, pedestrians and clientele coming into a business will walk on the gum and track it in all over your carpets, rugs and entryway mats. Then it’s embedded deep into the carpet fibers and into the porous surface of concrete, just waiting for another person to step in it again, to track it somewhere else.
We are happy to provide gum removal as one of our commercial pressure washing services in Johns Creek GA. Find more information about our methods below:
The best methods for removing chewing gum from concrete usually depends on the gum’s age and the level of penetration into the concrete surface. If the gum was left not long ago and it hasn’t penetrated the surface yet, we are sometimes able to get it off by covering it with ice until it freezes, then scraping the gum off with a metal putty knife.
The ice forces the chewing gum to freeze into a workable substance compared to a gooey and stringy glob. Once the chewing gum is frozen, we slide a putty knife or scraper directly under the gum. Next we move the scraper slowly under the gum and the entire piece should then peel right off the concrete.
The above method is only possible with brand new gum.
When we remove chewing gum that has turned black, or is already smashed deep down into the concrete surface, we use a hot water pressure washer with the heat dialed up to 200 Degrees to melt the chewing gum. For this type of gum removal, we do not use high pressure because that will sometimes damage the surface of the concrete!
Our crew never uses any more pressure than necessary to clean commercial concrete. These types of surfaces can be damaged a lot easier than people think, especially if they’re only a few years old. Concrete can require up to 100 years to cure. That is why we always use hot water and the least amount of pressure possible for our gum removal professional.
To completely remove chewing gum from concrete and other surfaces we use custom designed hot water power washing equipment and powerful soaps and detergents that enable us to clean the surface without leading to any damages.
Using special 200 degree hot water pressure washers and low pressure equipment, we safely remove chewing gum and surface dirt while protecting the surface. Our service will also eliminate bacteria and viruses that sometimes found in gum.
By hiring Johns Creek Pressure Washing for regular maintenance cleaning at your store or office, your commercial property will have better curb appeal and all gum removal problems will be over! You will also prevent damage to carpets and flooring while also making your storefront more appealing to visitors.
